大豊工業トライボロジー研究財団（TAIHO KOGYO TRIBOLOGY RESEACH FOUDATION：TTRF）と大豊工業は共催で「7th TTRF-TAIHO International Symposium on Automotive Tribology 2024」を2024年4月17日（水），名古屋国際会議場（名古屋市熱田区）で開催，トライボロジーに関連する大学・研究機関や自動車関連企業のエンジニア142名が参加した（写真1）。
新美 俊生 氏（大豊工業 代表取締役社長・写真2）は冒頭の挨拶で，「本シンポジウムは，トライボロジー研究の進展，自動車技術に応用可能な先進的な情報交換，トライボロジー分野における産学連携の強化を図るため，現状と将来性を述べることを目的に2016年から『自動車のトライボロジーに関する国際シンポジウム』としてTTRFと大豊工業で共催しています。毎回様々な自動車のトライボロジーに関するテーマを取り上げ，産学双方から活発な議論が行われています。『自動車トライボロジーの技術を通じて学術に貢献する』というシンポジウムの趣旨に基づき，最近ではSDGsや環境など社会貢献のテーマを追加しています。」と開催の目的や背景を述べた。
今回のテーマは「Prospects for Powertrain “Lubricants” Facing Carbon Neutrality：カーボンニュートラルに向けたパワートレイン『潤滑油』の展望」とし，基調講演では「持続可能な電気自動車モビリティのための材料と潤滑の課題」を，また「潤滑油の研究開発」に関する6件の講演と活発な質疑応答など総合討議（写真3）が行われた。
クロージングでは加納 知広 氏（大豊工業 代表取締役・写真4）が「皆様からのご意見などを頂きながら来年以降のテーマに反映させたい」と挨拶した。なお次回「8th TTRF-TAIHO International Symposium on Automotive Tribology 2025」は2025年4月の開催を予定している。当日の講演内容は以下のとおり。
